About this spot
This free park sits on the roof of a parking garage, 12 floors above University City, with a lawn of more than an acre. The open roof gives views on every side, so you can watch the sun go down over West Philadelphia while the skyline across the Schuylkill to the east lights up and then glows after dark. Bags are checked at the entrance on South 30th Street between Chestnut and Walnut, or you can take the garage elevator to the 11th floor and follow the green path up. From spring to around late October, the Sunset Social bar serves burgers, cocktails and beer. Opening hours change with the season, so check before going late.
