Peiraiki Coastal Walk

The seafront road around the Peiraiki peninsula, where the city faces the open Saronic Gulf. The sun sets over the sea, toward Salamina and the islands, and the remains of the ancient Themistoclean wall line the rocks along the water. Walk the promenade from the small beach at Freattyda, then pick one of the fish tavernas with outdoor tables along the coast road. They get busy with Athenians at weekends. Bus 904 runs along the coast road from Piraeus port, or take a taxi.
