About this spot
A glass lookout on the roof of the National Opera, with a 360 degree view of Athens, Piraeus, the Acropolis and the Saronic Gulf. The sun sets over the gulf, and the long canal and the sloping park below light up as it goes down. Reach the top by the lift at the Agora or by walking up through the Stavros Niarchos Park. The park and its paths are free, and the centre runs free events, including sunset DJ sets in some summers. Opening hours change with the season and events, so check the centre's site before going.
