About this spot
This 19th century promenade runs along the base of Old San Juan's city walls, beside San Juan Bay. From the Raíces fountain and the small wooden pier at its midpoint, the sun goes down over the bay toward Cataño. The wide path is lined with trees, benches and old lamps, and from Friday to Sunday there are food and craft stalls and often live music. It is free to walk, and the path continues along the walls toward the San Juan Gate and El Morro. Combine it with dinner in Old San Juan afterwards.
