Yosemite’s Firefall 🔥
About this spot
Every February, the setting sun aligns perfectly with Horsetail Fall, creating the incredible 'Firefall' effect-making it look like molten lava is flowing down the cliffs. 📅 Mid–late February (roughly Feb 10–26) ⏰ Around 5:30–6:30 PM 📍 El Capitan Picnic Area / Northside Drive, Yosemite Valley (the best viewing angle is wherever you see the biggest cluster of photographers with tripods 📸 — angle really matters; you can see in my photos how different positions change the view) 💡 Tip: Don’t even try finding parking near the viewpoint, it fills hours early. Take the shuttle or have someone drop you off. Last year we split into two groups: one watched it one day while the others handled the drop-off, then we swapped the next day. Honestly the least stressful way to do it 😅
