About this spot
These man-made lakes in the desert south of the city are a quiet place for a desert sunset, with the light reflecting on the water and birds gathering at dusk. Love Lake, shaped like two joined hearts, is a few minutes away. Bring water, food and a light for the drive back, since facilities are few or none. The final tracks are sand, so a 4x4 is recommended. Camping and barbecues are restricted in parts of the area, so check the rules before planning an evening there.
