Mirador del Migdia

Mirador del Migdia sits on the quiet south-west side of Montjuïc, one of the few places in Barcelona where you watch the sun itself go down rather than just the afterglow. From autumn to spring it sets over the Llobregat delta and the coast towards the Garraf hills; in summer it drops behind the slope of Montjuïc. The park is free and open all day, with wooden picnic tables under the pines. Next to it, La Caseta del Migdia is a small outdoor bar with live music on some evenings; in winter it closes in the afternoon, so check its hours. It is a short walk from Montjuïc Castle. Bring a blanket and arrive early at weekends.
