About this spot

A long sandy beach on the tip of West Seattle, looking across Puget Sound to the Olympic Mountains, with the downtown skyline across Elliott Bay. The sun sets over the water, and after dark you can walk the promenade to watch the city lights come on. Street parking along Alki Avenue is hard to find on summer evenings, so arrive about an hour early, or take the King County Water Taxi across Elliott Bay from downtown. Beach fires are allowed in the designated pits in summer, and cafés and restaurants line the beach road.
