Crystal Pier

About this spot

A wooden pier lined with small rental cottages, at the foot of Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach. From the pier or the sand beside it, the sun sets straight into the Pacific. The pier is open to the public during the day for walking and fishing, but closes to everyone except hotel guests at 7 p.m., so from spring to early autumn watch from the beach beside it. The Ocean Front Walk boardwalk runs past the pier toward Mission Beach, with bars and restaurants along the way. Street parking in Pacific Beach is hard to find at sunset.
