Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial

The memorial sits on the summit of Mount Soledad, with a near-360-degree view over the La Jolla coast, Mission Bay and downtown. The sun sets over the Pacific to the west, and on clear evenings the view stretches for miles. Visitors watch from the memorial steps or the small lawn with benches around the large white cross. The grounds are open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and entry is free. There are a few parking spaces at the top and a larger lot about a five-minute walk below.
