The grassy roof of the dam across the mouth of Marina Bay looks west over the water to the downtown skyline and Marina Bay Sands, and the sun goes down behind the towers. In the evening the sky above the lawn fills with kites. The green roof and public areas are free and open 24 hours, apart from occasional event closures. The lawn gets busy around sunset, so come early with a picnic mat.
