About this spot

The round tower at the top corner of the old city walls looks out over the rooftops of Thessaloniki to the Thermaic Gulf, with Mount Olympus on the horizon on clear days. The sun goes down over the gulf, and the city lights come on below. It stands by the walls in Ano Poli, the old upper town, and small cafés and tavernas are a short walk away in the cobbled lanes. The walk up from the centre is steep.
