Crown Memorial State Beach

About this spot

This long sandy beach on the bay side of Alameda faces west across the water to San Francisco, and the sun goes down over the city and the Peninsula hills. Parking is around $5 per car in the summer season, paid by card at the pay station. The lot gate closes at 7pm, which is before sunset in late spring and summer, and the restrooms close at 6:30pm. The park itself is open until 10pm, with walk-in entrances along Shore Line Drive. Dogs are not allowed on the sand, only on the lawns and paved paths.
