About this spot
This former landfill turned wild headland is full of driftwood and junk sculptures and murals made by local artists. From its western edge you look across the bay to the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline and Mount Tamalpais, and the sun goes down over the water toward the Golden Gate in winter and behind Marin in summer. The small parking lot at the end of Buchanan Street fills on weekends, but usually has space at golden hour. Mostly level paths and rough side trails lead out to the shore. The park is open until 10pm.
