Berkeley Rose Garden

About this spot
The terraced rose garden steps down the hillside below a redwood pergola, looking out over the bay to the Golden Gate Bridge. In winter the sun goes down over the Golden Gate itself. The rest of the year it sets behind Mount Tamalpais and the Marin hills, and the roses glow in the last light. The garden is open 6am to 10pm and has around 1,500 rose bushes. The upper overlook is wheelchair accessible. Parking is limited to the surrounding streets. Restrooms are next door in Codornices Park, reached through a tunnel by the north stairs.
