Red Hill, Coyote Hills Regional Park

Red Hill is one of the Coyote Hills, which rise straight out of the marshes on the east shore of the bay. The top looks west across the water to the Peninsula hills, where the sun goes down, and the 360-degree view reaches San Francisco and Mount Tamalpais on clear days. The last climb is short but steep. The vehicle gate closes between 6pm in winter and 8pm in summer, which is before sunset from about May to August and in late March, so check the times before you go. Parking is around $5.
