On the roof of Hotel Valencia at Santana Row, this small wine bar looks west to the Santa Cruz Mountains, and you watch the sun set behind them from seats around the fire pits. It is the quieter counterpart to the hotel's busier lobby bar. Cielo is seasonal and weather permitting, open Wednesday to Sunday from 5:30pm, which is after sunset from November to early February. The wine list is Californian with a light menu. In winter the rooftop becomes a holiday setup with its own hours and booking, and it sometimes closes for private parties, so call the hotel before you go.
