About this spot
On the clifftops of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, next to the white Point Vicente Lighthouse, this park looks straight out over the Pacific. The sun sets into the open ocean, and from December to April you may spot gray whales migrating offshore. The park grounds are open until an hour after sunset, so you can stay for the afterglow. The museum closes at 5pm. There are restrooms, benches, picnic tables and short trails along the bluff, and parking on site.
