Miradouro da Senhora do Monte is the highest viewpoint in central Lisbon, with a wide panorama over the castle, the Baixa and the river. The sun sets over the city skyline, and in autumn it sinks toward the river. A tiled panel names the landmarks, and trees shade the terrace. It is quiet by day but crowded with visitors and tuk-tuks by late afternoon, so arrive about half an hour before sunset. Take tram 28 to Graça and walk a few minutes uphill along Rua da Senhora do Monte. Comfortable shoes help.
