Miradouro de Santa Catarina looks out over the Tagus, the port and the 25 de Abril Bridge, with the Cristo Rei statue across the river. In late autumn and winter the sun sets close to the bridge; the rest of the year it drops behind the hills to the west and the river takes the glow. The terrace sits beside the Adamastor statue, with stepped seating and a kiosk serving drinks. Street musicians often play and it fills up at sunset, so arrive early for a seat. It stays open well after sunset. It is a short walk from Praça Luís de Camões, or ride the Bica funicular up from Cais do Sodré.
