Immigrant Point Overlook
About this spot
Immigrant Point Overlook is a stone plaza high in the Presidio, looking out over the Pacific, with the Marin Headlands and a side view of the Golden Gate Bridge to the north. On clear evenings the sun sets straight into the ocean, but fog often rolls in, so check conditions before heading up. The overlook has benches, and a Woodrow Wilson quote is carved into its stone wall in honor of people who immigrated to the United States. A small picnic area sits across the road. There are no restrooms; the nearest are at Baker Beach. Parking is limited to spaces along Washington Boulevard, including one accessible space beside the overlook. Muni 29 stops at Baker Beach, and the Presidio GO South Hills shuttle stops at Washington Boulevard and Central Magazine Road.
