About this spot
Coit Tower is not a direct sunset-viewing spot, but if you know where to stand, you can catch beautiful glimpses of the sunset. Head to the west side of the hill near the parking area, or walk down the road just below Coit Tower toward the Filbert Street Steps for views of the sun dropping behind the city. Also, the east side of the tower opens up to panoramic views over the Bay Bridge and the bay, making it a great place to enjoy the changing evening light.
